Man Wins $5,000, Tournament Raises $35,000

Enterprise, Ala. - Meet another one of Hole In One International's big winners: Michael Sines of Enterprise.

Sines won $5,000, courtesy of Becky Hancock Realty, and paid for by Hole In One International, after he aced the 165-yard, Blue Course, Hole 3 at the Silver Wings Golf Course at Fort Rucker during the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Golf Tournament. It was Sines' first hole in one.

While this year's tournament took place on April Fool's Day, this fundraiser is no joking matter. This year 216 players participated in the tournament, whose sole purpose is to award scholarships for AAAA members and their families. According to Tournament Director Denise Aylesworth, $35,000 in sponsorships were collected for the AAAA scholarship fund this year.

Better Fundraising is in the Cards...

Reno, Nev. - Do your golf tournament participants also love to play poker? You're not alone! Many golf tournaments feature a few rounds of poker as part of the event. This year, why not up the ante (and raise a bit more dough) by incorporating a giant-prize poker promotion into the mix.

Hole In One International's sister company, Odds On Promotions, offers dozens of fun and rewarding poker-themed promotions that can be incorporated into your next golf fundraiser.  Here are two tried and true performers:

Lucky Hand Poker Run -  Imagine a Poker Run with golf carts. With Lucky Hand Poker Run, your tournament participants ante up a few extra bucks in exchange for getting to select a playing card at a series of designated holes during your event.  At the end of the tournament, players enter their "hand" into Odds On's Lucky Hand Poker Run verification machine. If their hand matches the preselected winning hand, they'll take home the pot, and Odds On will pick up the tab. Bonus: The machine ranks all the hands and ranks them according to value, so awarding consolation prizes at your awards banquet is a snap.

Million Dollar Deal - Imagine giving any participant in your tournament, the chance to win $5000, $10,000 or even $1,000,000 at your awards banquet. With Million Dollar Deal Poker, your lucky contestant selects from 20 playing cards, sealed in Lucky Envelopes, in hopes of getting a Royal Flush and winning the Grand Prize, courtesy of Odds On!  Make this one a true win/win by having the winnings split between the grand prize winner and your organization.

Hole In One International Insures a Shot at Glory!

Phoenix, AZ - Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hit a shot on the famed par-3, 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale during the Waste Management Phoenix Open?

Two lucky golf fans (one of whom is pictured to the left), along with a host of local media personalities, Hollywood celebrities, community heroes and tournament sponsors got the chance to do exactly that a few weeks ago as they teed-it-up for charity in a unique closest-to-the-pin contest known as the “Shot at Glory", which took place immediately following the FBR/Xerox Silver Pro-Am prior to the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Tournament hosts, The Thunderbirds, award more than $100,000 to the celebrities' chosen charities during this unique event. And, if any participant was lucky enough to make a hole-in-one, Hole In One International was there to pay $1,000,000 to the charity of the acemaker's choice, thanks to Mark Hester of Hester, Heitel & Associates, Inc., who has turned to Hole In One International to insure this very special golf event for the past few years.

While no one aced Number 16 this year, musician Alice Cooper (pictured to right) won the "Shot at Glory", picking up $40,000 for the Solid Rock Foundation. Brett Frazier from Waste Management, whose charity was Keep America Beautiful, came second, while former Phoenix police officer Jason Schechterle, whose charity is the 100 Club, came in third.

Raise More Money With A Golf Ball Drop!

Pago-Pago, American Samoa – Looking to raise more money at your golf event this season? Maybe it's time to add a golf ball drop to your event! The people of American Samoa are another step closer to the dream of having their first community swimming pool thanks to the Rotary Club's 6th Annual Golf Tournament & $50,000 Golf Ball Drop.

Contestants in the golf ball drop purchase one of 1000 numbered golf balls which are then dropped from a bucket truck onto a target “hole”. If any of the five numbered balls falling closest to the hole match a preselected lucky golf ball number, the "owner" wins $50,000, paid for by Hole In One International's sister company, Odds On Promotions.
While there wasn't a $50,000 grand prize winner, three lucky ball-buyers still received some fantastic prizes. The first-place winner, Spencer Sword, took home a round-trip ticket to Honolulu, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines. The second-place winner, Jackie Young, picked up $500 and the third-place winner was Jeff Shively who won $250. This year's event helped the Rotarians to surpass their $100,000 fundraising goal getting them that much closer to a community pool.
